Marcos T. – Lead Technician
Marcos has been with Vance Gate Repair Burbank since 2016, which means he’s seen nearly every gate motor that Burbank’s hillside homes can throw at a technician. He’s our go-to for the hard diagnoses: the gate that works at 8 a.m. and refuses to move by noon, the opener that reverses for no reason, the welded gate that’s drifted out of square. Marcos holds an OSHA 30 certification and handles the majority of our access-control wiring jobs. Outside of work, he rebuilds old Honda motorcycles in his garage, and he applies the same patience to a stubborn gate limit switch that he does to a carburetor that won’t idle.
Denise R. – Service Coordinator
When you call (213) 577-1120, Denise is one of the live people who answers. She’s been dispatching our Burbank technicians since 2018, and she keeps the schedule honest: if a tech can be at your gate by 2 p.m., she’ll say 2 p.m. If not, she’ll say so. Denise knows the difference between a gate that won’t open and a gate that opens when it shouldn’t, so she can tell you whether it’s safe to test anything before we arrive. She’s also the one who makes sure every technician’s name and photo is sent to you before they show up. When she’s not on the phones, she’s hiking the Verdugo Mountains with her dog.
Luis G. – Senior Installer & Welder
Luis joined us in 2017 after a decade in commercial gate fabrication, and he’s the reason we can weld a cracked gate frame in Burbank instead of telling you to replace it. He’s certified in MIG and TIG welding and handles our heavier installations: slide gates, steel pedestrian gates, and custom-fit driveway gates on sloped lots. Luis measures twice, cuts once, and photographs the weld before grinding it flush. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley and still gets a little annoyed when people assume a gate on a hillside just needs “a bigger motor.” Usually it needed the hinges re-set, which is exactly the kind of thing Luis finds in the first ten minutes.
Anthony P. – Apprentice Technician
Anthony is the newest member of the Burbank crew, working under Marcos on repairs and learning the trade the same way everyone here did: by watching, asking questions, and being handed the flashlight. He’s two years into his apprenticeship and already handles photo-eye alignments, battery checks, and gate track cleanings on his own. Before joining Vance Gate Repair Burbank, Anthony worked warehouse logistics, which means he’s unreasonably good at keeping the truck organized. He’s also the one who labels every part in the job photos so you can actually read what’s in the picture.
