• The motor runs fine but the gate won’t latch or close fully. When the limit switch drift is the cause, the motor is not necessarily failing yet, but it’s the first sign the limit assembly is wearing. If you don’t address it, the motor keeps running against the stop over and over, and that repeated stall is what kills the gears.
